Nuit Blanche celebrates, as it does every year, the living arts and the vitality of performance with several non-stop hours of poetic actions, installations, music, workshops and screenings at Le Générateur and throughout Gentilly. It’s the promise of unlikely and unusual artistic crossings, but above all it’s the opportunity for a unique artistic rendezvous that celebrates living together and sharing.
As a former major neighborhood cinema known until the late 60s as Le Gaîté-Palace, Le Générateur this year enthusiastically embraces the 2025 theme chosen by Nuit Blanche: Cinema. To close the event, Le Générateur’s 400 m2 will host a ciné-concert featuring an original dialogue between silent films by pioneering female directors from the early 20th century and a contemporary musician. A back-and-forth past-present experience to be experienced live, blending exceptional cinematographic images of yesterday with live electronic sounds of today.
An event in partnership with La Maison de la Photographie Robert Doisneau, the Lavoir Numérique and the Médiathèque de Gentilly.
With the support of the Metropole du Grand Paris.

Performance
Variations
Mathilde Proy
Experimental film-concert
Sculpture? Installation? Concert? Or the hijacking of an accessory used by clowns (inflated balloons) ? The audience witnesses a singular, slow metamorphosis between a body and these latex organs. In an offbeat dialogue, Gaëtan Rusquet and Aimé.es Rossi take turns deploying this medium as a sonic and sculptural tool, creating in ritualized form, a kind of exoskeleton, a body exploded on the scale of the Générateur space and following an organic color code.
With the support of Centre Wallonie-Bruxelles
Closing the Nuit Blanche with a ciné-concert is to reconnect with the former life of the Générateur, which was, until the end of the sixties, a great neighborhood cinema. In dialogue with the triptych screening of films by committed female directors and pioneers of cinema history – Alice Guy, Germaine Dulac and Loïs Weber – Mathilde Proy plays live and blends grotesque, zany universes and darker atmospheres inspired by acousmatic music with these moving images.

SKALL
Performance, installation
With humor, visual artist and performer SKALL transforms the laundromat into a dreamlike den. He plans to populate it relentlessly with strange, poetic and absurd actions. It goes round and round, round and round, round and round, round and round…
Through a practice that blends the plastic arts (sculptures, installations) and performances, each of his public appearances delivers just a few quick glimpses into his baroque, Dada universe. In his performances, SKALL transforms, deforms, metamorphoses into a cloud, a bird of paradise, or a faun in raw chicken slippers, his head topped with branches or feathers…

Valley of Queens
Catherine Froment
Performance
Creating and communicating over the last few years with the reclining or ” gisantes ” statues of the queens of France in the Basilica of Saint-Denis, author and performer Catherine Froment invites us to an original performance during which the queens take possession of her words to reach us. From these strange dialogues with the statues, between flesh and stone, the queens have entrusted her with their little-known stories. And what if the performer’s body were also drawn into the mineral matter? Together with the audience, a mineral Venus is created live in a constantly renewed composition.
Performance, author: Catherine Froment
Soundtrack creation: Christophe Rodomisto
Dream collaborators: Virginie Watrinet and Frédéric Muñoz

The Cuckoo’s Marathon
Yassine Boussaadoun
Participatory performance
With humor, visual artist Yassine Boussaadoun hijacks the rules of sports games. By reproducing the usual decorum of a sporting event (banners, unmarked playing area, host with microphone, refreshment bar, lively music), he offers a very offbeat artistic experience by inviting the public to take part in a tournament unlike any other: Le Marathon de coucou. Here you’ll find the baddest sportsmen and women competing by waving at each other for as long as possible in the finest sporting spirit. The first to kiss the arm is the loser of the game. This Cuckoo Clock Marathon is a no-holds-barred competition, open even to the worst of you.
This is a free event open to all, so come with your best fluorescent shorts and bring your friends.

Rolling Bodies
Oktawia Scibior and Samory Ba
Participatory performance
Join artist-skaters Oktawia Scibior and Samory Ba for an evening where gliding is transformed into art. Between roller-skating performances, immersive projections and participative choreography, plunge into a universe where gravity seems to disappear! Oktawia Scibior and Samory Ba are artist-skaters based in Vitry-sur-Seine. Through the medium and technique of skating, together they create original choreographic works based on in-depth gestural and spatial research. Their choreographic approach is rooted in a historical filiation stemming from skating on ice, while emancipating themselves from aesthetic frameworks inherited from tradition to explore the unique potentialities of skating.
