Performance audiovisuelle VJ

VISION’R FESTIVAL • 12ème édition

This 12th edition of Vision’R questions the live image within the surprise of the event itself, the astonishment that arises in situ.

These emergences can only pass through so-called “weak” images, images that have not yet achieved their “status” as images. These almost-images, images without images (neither image nor non-image) are like Pasolini’s fireflies, lighting up like a fire that doesn’t fill the eyes.
These images are aesthetically weak in order to be artistically strong!

These images are an antidote to the spectacles of globalization, technology for its own sake, HD and other augmentations from the scientific and military spheres.
These so-called weak images are in truth powerful, minority images therefore profane, operative.
This phenomenon is both within popular cultures, all mass and mass-media arts, towards a democracy of all de-subjectivizing singularizations, all disidentifications in the age of big data.

AUBADJA

Waves is an oblique multi-screen audiovisual performance questioning environmental and bodily themes. Linked to NASA climate data such as ice melt, air pollution and earthquakes, the live performance evolves according to sound and visual experiments and real-time data. (text by laforetelectrique.com)

chdh

For the past fifteen years, the chdh collective has been investigating image/sound relationships by creating algorithmic synthesizers of sound and vision. In search of a synesthetic radicality, their hypnotic performances work on the joint movements between image and sound and belong as much to experimental cinema in the form used as to improvised music in the way they are played.
In their new performance Deciban, sound and visual forms emerge from a noise similar to the “snow” of old analog TV sets. This hypnotic material, accompanied by its sonic alter ego, is set in motion to acquire a structure, a topology, patterns. The audience loses itself in the perception of this richly illusory universe in which phenomena are drowned out: noise is information. Work in progress.
