The Generator is teaming up with the Biennale NOVA_XX and the Biennale Nemo for an evening of pulsating performances by the “performance and sound theater” prizewinners, who will present their creations on Friday, December 10 from 7pm to midnight :
The banquet of human activities requiring sustained effort
Julie Vacher
Like a ventriloquist hydra, the fruit of becoming a cyborg, the sound and visual installation The Banquet of Human Activities requiring sustained effort brings sound poetry into play to think about the injunctions of the working world and machine learning technologies.
Envelope – living sculpture
Jenny Abouav
This performance questions the hybridization of a present, invisible body undergoing metamorphosis. Its epidermis is crossed by the details of the environment and plunges the spectator into changes of scale and perception, making him doubt whether the slow, continuous movement of this sculpture is produced by a mechanism, a program, or a human body.
Your Opinion Matters #2
Magali Desbazeille
The question is: why is EVERYTHING rated, ALL the time, by EVERYONE? Your opinion is everywhere, all the time, and we’re interested in it! The performance addresses this fact by adding an autobiographical dimension embodied by the author. The virtual elements of the evaluations will be materialized on stage.
How to live in a harmonious world and Art Conference
Morgane Baffier
Morgane Baffier, using one of the most advanced technologies, the overhead projector, delivers real lessons on art, love, how to live in a harmonious world and on “how to move forward”…
Vocalize me
Geneviève Favre Petroff
This performance is about the freedoms acquired over the centuries. It traces the history of the female silhouette with humor and irony, and offers a mechanical version of the basket dress worn at Court. Between the French Revolution and the digital revolution, the voice is thematized as a tool of artistic and political expression. Like an Internet Marie-Antoinette, the artist reveals a part of her intimacy, her state of emergency and her futuristic aspirations. Her technological dress changes shape as her mood swings…
Critical Techno
Helena Dietrich & Thomas Proksch
Critical Techno is a Dj set, a trance-like dance meditation – a collective journey between listening, dancing, words, sounds, rhythms, sweat, constellations and bodies in space towards an unknown destination
BB cream
Jean Biche
Founded in 2017 in Brussels by Stéphanie Pécourt,NOVA_XX is a biennial dedicated to Technological, Scientific and Artistic Innovation, in the light of the feminine and in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution 4.0.
Tropism 2021: Artificial Intelligence
This third edition of the Biennial is a special Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles – France et Québec edition and focuses on issues related to Artificial Intelligence and protocols attesting to synergies between artistic and scientific research. In collaboration with the IRCAM, a tropism dedicated to women’s contemporary musical creation also constitutes one of the challenges of NOVA_XX.
It will open in December, in a bicephalous fashion: in Paris, at the Centre Wallonie-Bruxelles – on December 8 and in Gentilly, at the Générateur on December 10 – it is part of NEMO – Biennale Internationale des arts numériques de la Région Île-de-France, organized by the CENTQUATRE.

The banquet of human activities requiring sustained effort
Julie Vacher
Like a ventriloquist hydra, the fruit of becoming a cyborg, the sound and visual installation The Banquet of Human Activities requiring sustained effort brings sound poetry into play to think about the injunctions of the working world and machine-learning technologies.
A manager, a therapist, a translator, a cryptologist and a speaker. In a laboratory, five characters nurture an
artificial intelligence. Representative of our contemporary society (economy, health, digital, media) and selected for the language imposed by their professions, the guests feed their immaterial employer with their monologues. However, the contours of an emancipating and poetic language, made up of neologisms, rhythms and choruses, gradually take shape and will divert the process.
At the heart of a techno-tinkered device, the equipped voices, at the frontier between the physical and the virtual, take shape via the spatialization of sound and multi-channel (audio, text display, light). An immersive experience dedicated to the story of a human-machine symbiosis via language.
