Paweł Sakowicz is a choreographer and dancer. His work explores movement as a physical, historical, and cultural phenomenon.
His projects often stem from long-term research into the history of dance, choreographic practices, and the ways in which knowledge is transmitted through the body. He is interested in the mechanisms of repetition, transformation, and embodied memory, as well as the tensions between discipline and improvisation. His performances and choreographic works lie at the intersection of contemporary dance, performance art, theater, and the visual arts. His work has been presented at numerous festivals and arts venues in Europe and the United States. At the heart of his approach is an observation of movement as a process of continuous transformation and constant negotiation with its environment.
