The fourth date of the festival [ frasq ]#16, rencontre de la performance gives carte blanche to artists Dounia Dolbec, Constantin Leu, Socheata Aing and Eric Cordier for a shared evening of creations.

For personal reasons, Emma Kerssenbrock is forced to cancel her participation in the event. Iel is replaced by Constantin Leu and his performance Goethe or not Goethe (Whoever doesn’t go forward goes backward).

Performance

Stuck in the middle of three cancellations, a construction site and a flood, hic et nunc, here and now, Constantin Leu adapts the Goethian formula “Quiconque n’avance pas recule” from the story Hermann and Dorothée. He drags his suitcase, puts on his boots, moves forward, doesn’t move forward, moves backward, perhaps.

In Pausanias’ version of the Greek myth of Narcissus (2nd century AD), we discover that Narcissus had a twin sister whom he loved dearly. When she died, he went mad with grief and went to a spring every day to find his sister’s features in his own reflection.

In the same way, gently and lovingly donning her late father’s clothes, Socheata Aing attempts to rediscover his attitudes, his posture, the feel of his plump belly. She searches the memory of his body for a precious fragment of his presence. A look, a breath, a sound.

Vocal and electronic performance

Infer-Mental, it’s dumb, it’s dirty, it’s boring, it smells bad, it doesn’t last long, it’s grotesque, it’s fun, it’s sweet as a lullaby, it’s good as iron filings in rillettes du Mans.

Infer-Mental is the alliance of performance-body art practice, stemming from Michel Journiac’s teaching where it’s all about putting one’s life on the line, and an exploration of noisy electronic devices interacting with the voice.

Performance, dance

Our legs are archives. They carry the weight of bodies, of migrations, the weight of every day. They dream and desire. They are docile or dissident. Our legs tell stories. They come from and go to. Some legs branch off. In my legs are those of my mother and those of my father. My legs dance.

In Legs Legacy, they distort and reinvent their codes and customs. They transform the known into the unrecognizable, the familiar into the monstrous. To go elsewhere, for greater strides.

A sensory and sensual sound experience, Coït pour misophone is a solitary exploration of an unusual fetish: the pleasure of hurting one’s ears.
The audience is invited to penetrate for a few moments into an immersive and intimate atmosphere. Chaotic, scathing masturbatory space thanks to the augmented body device. Fornication between man and machine generating satisfying squeals and raw noise inflicted without any affliction.
Mechanicoital hybridization for unexpected mutation; industrial vocalizations and analog gargles.
