With Large Retenue, the Generator inaugurates a new format. Through performance, experimental music is amplified, twisted and mutated.
Large Retenue, like an anagram of Générateur, like a paradox: the constraint of the gesture and the breadth of the space invite sonic exploration.
Rituals, strikes, silences or trances: for an evening of four concerts, musicians, artists and performers will transform sound and the 400 m2 of the Générateur in complete freedom.

Again The Sunset
In Again the sunset, the artists mine matter in its raw state. Striking a wooden beam, the gesture provokes the minimal, haunting rhythm that carries a text out of limbo, somewhere between dog and wolf.

Dildo’s Laments
Dildo’s Laments is a hybrid form, oscillating between performance, installation and concert.
Seeking inspiration in the figure of the weeper (a professional paid to feign tears), Hélio Volana imagines what a sonic, funerary and queer ritual might be.
Whether dildophonic, electronic or vocal, lamentations become his tools for trance, gender performance, and the overcoming of fixed identities.
It’s about inhuming assignments to masculinity, in order to welcome one’s body as it is, fluid and ambiguous.

Greyish-Grey-battery-nature
Big drums, a barrel right on the ground,
distant snare drums,
bouncing, rolling, swarming,
far away, with hands, branches, sticks,
stretching, striking, rapping the skins.
dragging, burrowing, throwing,
stones against stuff. Small-large moments of violence, silence,
gathered elements resembling a drum kit,
some riffs, gestures, repeated movements.

Mealbient / Hypnagogic dance music (SuperCollider and Volca sample)
The duo of C Folle and Nonmei 9227 create viscous music inspired by theme parks, swamps and hypnagogic states through granular synthesis and flaccid patterns. It would be like taking a walk through a haunted house and feeling safe.
