Performance hybrid

Côme Ferrasse
NO H<3ART = NO PAIN, 2022

NO H<3ART = NO PAIN is a proteïform and proteïfond performance project, which through an interplay of textuality, vocality, corporality and musicality allows me to explore my link to the body(s), to my organs, to their symbolism. I sing, speak and augment this body through sound compositions broadcast in quadraphony, and move through the audience (preferably with closed eyes). This allows me to immerse the listener/spectator while getting as close as possible to their ears through my movements. Over the next few months, I plan to integrate a 1st part to the performance: to create a listening system right in my body, which listeners will come and listen to with a stethoscope, in the manner of my orchydatyls. Small metal surfaces called micro-piezos will diffuse the sound, themselves attached to ceramic prostheses covering my body.

Performance sound

Mélodie Blaison
Brumes, Métamorphoses voca-atmosphériques, 2022

A meditative, narrative and sensory experience where acoustic instruments, surging field recordings and transposed vocal polyphonies intertwine.

The narrative is immersive, and misty, juxtaposing distorted wind instrument waves, rumbling drone echoes, and hallucinatory feedback breaths, to capture the real and transpose the body into a liminal zone.

Collaborative choreographic and sound project in 3 studies

Wendy Cornu & Lucien Gaudion
Les mers imaginaires, 2020

Les Mers imaginaires is the meeting of sound resonance and choreographed gesture articulated in three studies, composed as transcendental and obsessive rituals.
In this performance bringing out several body/sound/light relationships, all the technical manipulations of sound production generate choreographic gestures and vice versa.
The body becomes involved, initiating movements at the service of the device, in a consensual interdependence, between synchronicity and analogy.
By sculpting space, making it physically perceptible, the performance upsets the senses and recomposes our perception. Immersed in a permanent ebb and flow, like imaginary seas, the audience is invited to enjoy a hypnotic, epileptic and resolutely physical experience.

Founded in 2017 in Brussels by Stéphanie Pécourt, NOVA_XX is a biennial dedicated to Technological, Scientific and Artistic Innovation, at the aune of the feminine and in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution 4.0.

Edition 2024: Plurivers & Contingence
Sponsor: Vittoria Matarrese

After three sessions to examine the dossiers submitted to the juries of the NOVA_XX and curatorial choices made, it is the approaches of 43 artists who will make up this fourth edition of the Biennale NOVA_XX.

43 powerful universes will be deployed according to an archipelagic topography between Paris, Île-de-France and Aix, aiming to approach new epistemes, regenerate regimes of experience and language, and approach nomadic, hybrid and de-sentimentalized ontologies.

_____________________
The biennial dedicated to those who, under the banner of a coalescing and heterogeneous genre, were confined to the “nave of the margins in the shadow of certainties”.
_____________________

NOVA_XX – territoire liminal – aims to highlight works and approaches that take hold of, criticize as much as they attest to and incorporate scientific and technological data. These are works whose vocation lies in decoincidence, in tension and in the potentialization of sinusoidal worlds and cartographies. The Biennial desequences and commits itself to the interpenetration of knowledge and the dilution of borders.
