Trained at the Conservatoire du IXe arrondissement in Paris, Sonia Codhant is an actress, director and performer. She founded the La Vie est Courte company in 1997 and the Les Animaux de Zoo company in 2007.
Interpreting several leading roles for television and film, Sonia has appeared in numerous series, and has hosted “Écrans du Savoir” on La Cinquième and “Lundirect” on 89.4 mhz.
In theater, she crosses different ways of approaching the stage, and it’s with director and performer David Noir that she explores a scenic territory more suited to her.
With her own company, Les Animaux du Zoo, she directed Life and Death of Katie Olson based on a text by James Garner about the death penalty, then wrote and performed Le Petit Chaton Rouge based on testimonies about first sexual intercourse.
Several musical adventures punctuate her multifaceted career (Ocelot, Class Enemy, Les Lyriques Shakers…) for which she composes, acts, performs or directs.
Sonia performs alone on stage (Le mâle dedans, Tu > moi, DIS/APPARITION, Greetings)… or with actors Jean-François Rey (Imago, Savoir Vivre, Miroir mon beau miroir dis moi queues, La France Tranquille, Musée de la qualité, Rien…) David Noir (Le Golem nu, la Toison dort, Les Parques d’attraction), choreographer Barbara Mavro Thalassitis(Still Life) or musician François Marnier (Mais comment s/se prendre, Paroles ou musique, l’âme erre).
Since its creation in 2018 by Le Générateur, Sonia Codhant has taken part in almost every edition of Show Your Frasq, the extravagant performance show.
