Élizabeth Saint-Jalmes presents ABRI TROU, a giant immersive inflatable space she has imagined as a theater of games and possibilities. Over the course of a weekend, she presents a “Curoscope” performance installation, conceived as a total precarious work of art, bringing into play ways of approaching doing and doing together in dialogue with other living beings.
A string of six inflatable structures sewn independently in situ and then combined, the creation ABRI TROU invests the 450m2 of the Générateur. Élizabeth Saint-Jalmes deploys a spatial and sculptural vision with this construction. ABRI TROU appears as a vast body in which she invites the public to physically inscribe themselves. Walking a tightrope between concrete and imaginary space, it offers its womb to exploration and metamorphosis. Having created a tiny colored skylight concealed within the 1000m3 of ABRI TROU, she proposes a single point of view on the exterior of the object, a reversal of the relationship to space.
ABRI TROU, as a space to be invested, is endowed with a manifesto that defines its field of possibilities and constraints.
