Démocratie mobile is a cine-concert tour of Yona Friedman’s Slide-shows with electro-acoustic artists invited by Max-Louis Raugel.
Drawn and written by Yona Friedman as comic strips between 1970 and 2011, the slideshows Architecture, Politics, The Extraterrestrial Visitor’s Guide, Society and Communication, and About the Universe, present in film form different ways of inhabiting the earth.
African tales (animated films), conceived by architect and thinker Yona Friedman, precede each ciné-concert. These films, made with his wife Denise Charvein, Bunuel’s editor, and commissioned by Pierre Schaeffer for L’ORTF, along with sound illustrations based on recordings of African music collected by UNESCO, were broadcast in Africa by Jean Rouch and were a huge success.
Rediscovered and restored by the Cneai, they have now been released on DVD, but have rarely been shown in public.
