EDITO
Nothing will be more
Running counter to everything (we) have been taught, Le Générateur undoes our reference points. Here, the 12th edition of [ frasq ] is yet another attempt to construct and deconstruct what is. If the guest artists succeed, it’s because they’re ahead of the game, walking on clouds. Visionaries that they are, they invite us to discover an art of nuance and change, comforting us in our uncertainties, against all sententious forms. This new edition brings together a variety of formats, including Bernard Bousquet’s XXL, Laurent Melon’s slippery images, Elizabeth Saint-Jalmes’ sculpture without contour or end, and Mathilde Rance’s choreographic and sonic bestiary. It’s also the beginning of a collaboration with the LAP collective and the starting point of a new artistic adventure with the Lavoir Numérique, a venue dedicated to image and sound which opens its doors in mid-October. Le Générateur is keeping up the momentum of [ frasq ] by placing its trust in young artists – Claire Faugouin, Scène ouverte Pile or [ frasq ] – and confirming its connivance with artists David Noir, Deed Julius, Jeanne Susplugas and Cyril Leclerc (to name but a few).
Even if we only see the cracks, the hesitations, the splinters, [ frasq ] remains a moment that reveals just how patient and long-term the artistic gesture is. Le Générateur has clearly understood this, and it is only through the intuitive encounters it has woven over the years that it progresses – imperturbably – towards what is not.
