Les yeux du grand manteau de nuit is an unusual video installation activated by a sound and music device imagined by drummer and musician Uriel Barthélémi. For 10 days, audiences discover forests from all over the world (Indonesia, Amazonia, Asia ) in an original way. With majestic slowness, the images unfold, but are regularly disrupted by the musician’s fiery, bubbling baton-playing. The visit is then transformed into a frantic crossing of the forest; Each spectator becomes the author of his own adventure.
Uriel Barthélémi conceived his installation by integrating 3 concert dates in which he affirms his taste for live performance and encounters with other musicians. With the complicity of drummers – Yann Joussein, Lucile Antunes – singer Maude Trutet and cellist Gaspar Claus, the composer will give full rein to his proposal, that of a live and most invigorating dialogue between music and image
