Nuit Blanche 2022

Entrée libre

Launch of the 14th edition of the [ frasq ] festival, performance meeting!

A journey of performances, installations and exhibition in Gentilly from 7pm to 10:30pm /// at the Générateur from 8pm to midnight

A not-to-be-missed event at the start of the season, Nuit Blanche is doubling up on Gentilly’s public space this year, and for the first time is extending its artistic program beyond its borders, towards Paris 13ème.

Mixtures, crossovers, encounters, improbable telescopings between artists and audiences, the poetic experience, as long as it is shared without reservation, remains the common thread of this Nuit Blanche gentilléenne et métropolitaine.

With the participation of new partners: La Maison Doisneau, Le Lavoir Numérique and the Paris Université Club. The artistic program devised by the Générateur has expanded geographically this year. Is this linked to a desire to create a stage that is without limits? Or is it a way of retaining the ability to reinvent ourselves time and time again? Above all, it’s an opportunity to experience “doing things together” and the collective implementation of a large-scale event, accessible to all.

GENERATOR PROGRAMMING

Continuous performances throughout the evening from 8pm to midnight

Interrogating our relationship to the intimate, Le Générateur’s programming hijacks certain everyday actions like listening to the radio in your car, or getting dressed each morning. By setting up a subtle dialogue between the presence of bodies in movement and ” encapsulated ” concerts, Gabriel Hernandez and Cyril Leclerc question our links with our senses, time and matter. These actions, yet opposite in format, transform into a fluid score and immerse the audience in a multi-sensory, dreamlike and festive microcosm.

To close the evening a live music set draws the audience to dance on this pseudo urban dancefloor and decor !

– Bagnole

Designed and directed by Cyril Leclerc
Musicians : Bertrand Larrieu, Elsa Michaud, Neige, DJ Reine, Zaraz Wam Zagram and AC/DJ

Music – Installation – Video

Bagnole is a live installation-concert for five cars and car radios. The cars, parked in various nooks and crannies of the Générateur, create a surreal scenography, where everyday life slips into a universe both light and strange. Each car plays host to a live concert lasting around twenty minutes, reserved for just a few spectators.
An unusual, playful device that allows a privileged, intimate encounter between the audience and a musician. As if cut off from time, the five passenger compartments of Bagnole’s vehicles encourage attentive and privileged listening to sound.

– À dire rien qu’être à quoi dire

Designed and directed : Gabriel Hernandez
With Alice Bera, Laetitia Bonfante, Raphaële Brice, Marianne Brugère, Pascal Delabouglise, Fabien Dymny, Sophia El Mokhtar, Claire Faugouin, Daniel Franchini, Reynan Liu, Margaux Monti, Tatiana Moreno Arciniega, Serge Pauchon, Qibo Sun, Catherine Ursin and for an unlimited number of performers

Collective performance

Designed for an unlimited number of performers, the performance unfolds in waves and randomly amidst the 5 vehicles of Cyril Leclerc‘s installation ” Bagnole”.

Following rigorously and at their own pace the instructions of a score imagined by Gabriel Hernandez, each performer puts on, takes off, accumulates clothes in unexpected and sometimes absurd ways. They modify their initial function, which is to cover the body, hide it, protect it, adorn it.
A way for the author to thwart the codes of a banal action that is nonetheless common to everyone every day.
The performance ends when each performer is impeccably dressed.

PROGRAMMING IN GENTILLY

Ensemble /K/inêtikos
With Marcos Arriola, François Auger, Léa Bridarolli, Sijia Chen, Pauline Colemard, Eléonore Dugué and Eneas Vaca Bualo
Performance – Dance – Textile creation

Soundtrack : Dj Reïne

Clad in the textile creations of visual artist Bernard Bousquet, the six dancers occupy the square in front of the mediatheque with a flamboyant choreographic proposition that questions the architecture of the venue. For three hours, the courtyard of the mediatheque becomes their field of experimentation.
The choreographed bodies move towards each other, separating to better merge and offer themselves to the gaze of Gentile citizens.
Each artist claims freedom of gesture and movement. Art becomes a celebration.

– Cabinet Racine

Elizabeth Saint-Jalmes
Plastic arts

As part of her plastic arts residency Se Planter Là, Elizabeth Saint-Jalmes has been activating a mobile ceramics workshop in Gentilly for several months, which she has called Cabinet Racine.
A table and two chairs become pretexts for coming to meet her and discover her practice. On the forecourt of the media library, she will approach the Nuit Blanche public and shape their words and stories through clay modeling. Se Planter Là is a seven-month artistic residency that will culminate in an exhibition time at Le Générateur in November 2022.

An initiative funded by the Ile de France region and the city of Gentilly

Deed Julius & Fame Fatale*
Performance

In the LavaTronic enclosure, performer Deed Julius, a specialist in unclassifiable, ambiguous and flamboyant performances, awaits you for an unprecedented sonic, visual and social experience.
An evening dedicated to sonic eruptions and surges during which the artist, bathed in the sonic magma of Fame Fatale, will attempt to become a human volcano while concretely sublimating a functional venue.

You’re not crazy

Jeanne Susplugas
With Bruno Coulon, Nadine Delannoy, Gaëlle Trimardeau
Performance

This performance tackles the themes of manipulation, perversion, intra-family violence and the talking group as a way out of the grip and cycle of violence.
In a transposed way Jeanne Susplugas focuses here on the double penalty, that of justice legitimizing violence. Five puppeteers dressed in black will animate puppets to the rhythm of the words of four women and a psychologist (previously recorded discussion group).

Chrysalis, becoming landscape

Gaëlle Villedary
Exhibition, Performance

Exhibition tour : 7pm – 10:30pm
Performance: 8pm – 9pm
A mattress, a basin of Gentilly spring elm seeds, eggs.
During the Nuit blanche, Gaëlle Villedary dreams of herself as a chrysalis and makes herself a skin of seed scales glued to her skin.

As part of the exhibition “la fleur demeure toujours dans l’amande” to be discovered from September 16 to December 16, 2022.

Le Lavoir Numérique
4, rue de Freiberg

Atmos

Octave Courtin
Sound art – Installation

The sound artist takes over the Lavoir numérique cinema and presents an installation on the edge between the fields of visual arts and music. With the creation of sound objects, both musical instruments and installations, he develops a ” machinico-organic ” universe in which water, air and his body produce atmospheric music. In stretched temporalities, we’ll see giant balloons feeding air to pieces of accordion, or communicating vases, from which drops fall that make various objects resonate and produce repetitive rhythms.

– Let’s listen to the city

Federico Rodriguez Jimenez
Sound walks in Gentilly

Number of participants per walk: 10 people

Through his system of sound strolls, musician Federico Rodriguez-Jimenez offers the Nuit blanche public an original way of discovering Gentilly and all the city venues involved in the event. In groups of ten, each participant, equipped with a digital dictaphone and headphones (provided by the artist), is invited to listen to the sounds and rhythms generated by the city. Like an extension of the body, these tools allow to hear unsuspected sound universes and to perceive the public space that surrounds us differently.

To take part :
Start PUC Social Club sound walks at 7pm. Departure from the Lavoir numérique at 8:15pm and 9:30pm (17 avenue Pierre de Coubertin 75013 Paris)
Duration of each walk : 50mn

Participation on registration on site on the day or in advance by email via > production@legenerateur.com
