A writer-in-residence at Le Générateur in 2020, the performer-plastician-croquemort has now exceeded all his objectives : his first book Vide sanitaire is published by Verticales/Gallimard on October 7, 2021. To celebrate this event, François Durif punctuates the reading of his book with video sequences by Louis Rollinde. This is followed by a book signing and a conversation with publishers Jeanne Guyon and Yves Pagès.
” If thought is a journey, then it calls for wandering. Hence the stroll-like form given to this narrative, which gives an account as much of lost time as of the emptiness necessary to the elaboration of a work, however precarious it may be. Doing nothing is just as important as doing something; we’re not here to fill the void.
During this evening’s reunion, I’ll of course be reading extracts from my first story published by Verticales/Gallimard, but I’d also like to talk about the making of the text and bring the mute figure of the undertaker to life, giving it body and voice. “
