Inspired by the many multidisciplinary encounters and discoveries that his previous experiences at Le Générateur have brought him, Julien Haguenauer (aka HBT) has conceived this concert/performance project Diagonale Wavelets as a musical creation protocol marked by innovations, but above all by interactions between experimental music and different fields of expression or creative domains.

It is through the hijacking of wavelet transform algorithms – usually exploited by an anxiety-ridden Artificial Intelligence industry – that we generate here an effervescence of new creative avenues and an abundance of “oblique” approaches to collaboration with other artistic disciplines. The project revolves around the elaboration of musical compositions and the creation of new sound objects based on texts, images, sculptures, performances, etc.

“Nocturnal time marks the suspension of judgment” (M. Fœssel, La Nuit, 2017)

Diagonal Wavelets was written around imaginations liberated from the use of these same algorithms for the purposes of facial recognition or other liberticidal surveillance. This multi-disciplinary project draws on the fertile themes of the night and the experience of partying. A desire to seize the jubilant, liberating potential of playing with technology, just as the pioneers of the synthesizer seized upon electronics. With anarchic and liberating noises and sounds, putting at a distance the anxieties of judgment or even control linked to these technologies.
