The sixth date of the festival [ frasq ]#16, rencontre de la performance gives carte blanche to artists Catherine Ursin, Mickaël Berdugo, Cloé Brochard and François Durif for a shared evening of creations.

Performance

Suppliques is a final crossing, a one-way trip, for a potential moment of grace, with the audience’s blessing. This action, a slow passage through space, is a demand for the right to recognition of artists while they are alive.

Performance

Mickaël rolls his hump as he recounts twenty-four hours of his life as a poetic and prophetic man. From sunrise to sunset, from his brain to his speech, he unfolds a world very close to his complicated psyche. The noise of time, shadows leaping behind him, his day is punctuated by the arrival of lions and dreams, each crazier than the last. His gaze no longer looks to the horizon, it is the horizon. The angles of his body speak to warn the sky that he’s about to disappear, so he sleeps and then that’s that…

Performance, Sculpture, Multimedia installation

In canon, three performers engage in a duel. Face-tracking software translates their facial micro-expressions into light or sound signals.

WOOF’ is a choreography of constraint, a staging of depersonalized, submissive bodies. The artist draws on multiple references from our everyday environment, such as sports, children’s games, dog training or our use of mobile apps. So many practices where our authoritarian models are stealthily manifested.

Performers: Judith Luquet, Iyad Renard, Louis Vabre
Sound design: Arsène Roy

Performed reading

From a montage of fragments from his latest story Torno subito, published by Verticales, François Durif wants to give an overview of the different moods that run through him, being attentive to the “echo setting” that Olivier Cadiot speaks of regarding readings in public – distinct from those that one makes to oneself at the time of writing.

To read, without watching oneself read, would be the challenge of this first outing, focusing on the first pages of the book: the father’s agony, what it uncovers of the son’s intimate life.

Copies of Torno subito will be on sale on-site at the Generator on the evening of the event.
